Rotary International District 5450 Governor’s Award was presented to George Maybee, President-elect of the Commerce City Rotary Club.

GEORGE HAS A MAJOR ADDICTION and it is called “Service Above Self” said Amy Neurauter, current President of George’s home club.  After he started a Rotary Club on Christmas Island and led the efforts to provide over 1.2 million dollars of humanitarian health, water, sanitation and educational items to the island, including receiving 3 Simplified Grants and 2 RI Matching Grants. While on a fishing trip he discovered a lack of reading materials for the schools in Mongolia and is now equipping 6 village schools in the north-central part of Mongolia as well as partnering with BC Canada Rotaries to provide books for libraries in the First Nations Band area.

George is willing to help wherever he is needed, now serving on the executive committee for the District as well as the Water and Sanitation committee. George raises the bar very high.
